Thanks to outstanding community support, Sheriff Tom Knight’s 9th Annual Corporate SWAT Challenge raised $15,000 for the Sheriff’s Activities League of Sarasota County.

On Saturday, eleven teams from local businesses and organizations spent the day at Knight Trail Park in Nokomis competing in four tactical events of skill, endurance and strategy. The Corporate SWAT Challenge was designed so participants would have fun in a challenging but team-building atmosphere while raising money for local children’s programs.

Sarasota Dental Group took first place, followed by CrossFit Megalodon in second, and South Florida Tactical Athletes in third. Other competing teams included Gecko’s Hospitality Group, Daiquiri Deck, Edward Jones sponsored by Pete Abbott, Nau-T Girl Jewelry, Gehring Group, Intertape Polymer Group (IPG), BenTek, and Team Second Chance.

The event was sponsored by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation, with additional support from several individuals and businesses to include Cool Today, Jon F. Swift Construction, Artistree, Massage Luxe, Let’s Jump Events, 5.11 Tactical, TPC Prestancia, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sarasota Trophy, donor Janis Fawn, and many others.

Since its inception in 2010, Sheriff Tom Knight’s Corporate SWAT Challenge has raised more than $210,000 for children’s programs in this community.
