The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is advising the public that Michael Mier, DOB 10/25/84, has registered as a Sexual Offender living in Sarasota County.

Mier was arrested for Felony Rape and Felony Object Sexual Penetration in Virginia in 2006 and sentenced to five years in prison. In 2011, Mier violated his probation and was sentenced to an additional five years behind bars. Mier was just released and moved to Sarasota County where he reports he will be living at 1020 Caliva Street in North Port. He is not currently under the supervision of the Department of Corrections however, he is not allowed to live within 1,000 feet of a school, childcare facility, park or playground.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office website, agency Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts to publicly notify citizens of sexual offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offenders and predator registrations.
