Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested a 38-year-old Venice resident for sending sexual images to an 11-year-old.

Detectives began an investigation on May 29, 2018, after receiving a report that an 11-year-old child was communicating with a person believed to be an adult through an app called Snap Chat. The child was solicited by this person to send explicit pictures and received explicit pictures from this same person. On August 3, 2018, detectives executed a Search Warrant at 1188 Panda Road, Venice, and identified Kelbi John Burson, W/M DOB 7/27/80, as the person soliciting and sending explicit images to this 11-year-old.

Burson was arrested for Transmitting Harmful Materials to a Minor, Using a Computer to Solicit a Child, and five (5) counts of Possession of Images related to Sexual Performance by a Child. This is an ongoing and active investigation.
