NEWS RELEASE 18-117 - JUNE 14, 2018

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 33-year-old Venice man Tuesday for Transmission of Obscene Material.

Detectives acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children determined a particular IP address was used to upload an image to a website containing child pornography. Detectives confirmed the IP address was registered to 245 Flamingo Road and obtained a search warrant for the property. Through investigation, detectives learned that Richard Kuchta, DOB 02/10/85, was living at the home.

Kuchta was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of Transmission of Obscene Material. He was released Tuesday evening on $1,500 bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
