Sarasota Man Charged with Sale of Prescription Pills

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 57-year-old Sarasota man for prescription pill sales.  

The investigation launched in March when Paul Baran, DOB 10/08/60, agreed to sell prescription pills to undercover detectives. On two separate occasions on March 22 and 28, Baran met detectives and sold them hydromorphone and morphine.

Baran, of 3722 Kingswood Drive, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of Sale of Hydromorphone, Sale of Morphine, and Use of a Two-Way Communication Device to Facilitate a Felony. He remains in custody today on $53,000 bond. Baran has prior arrests for Dealing in Stolen Property, Evidence Destroying, Grand Theft, and various drug crimes.
