Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight is pleased to announce that another member of his management staff graduated from The Florida Sheriffs Institute Commanders Academy.

Captain Timothy Enos, Commander of the Emergency Operations Bureau, today completed the Academy at the Florida Sheriffs Association headquarters in Tallahassee. The Academy was designed by sheriffs to ensure members of the command staff have the background and training to carry out their responsibilities within the agency. The program was developed in conjunction with the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute.

“Participation in The Commanders Academy is beneficial to graduates, our agency and to the community as a whole,” said Sheriff Tom Knight. “Management regularly faces complex decisions where this type of leadership training and professional development can really make a difference.”

The intensive training included 64 hours of curriculum in March and April. Topics included leadership, ethics, legislative affairs, effective discipline, labor and personnel issues, fiscal administration, the civil process, courthouse security and jail management.
