The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a 32-year-old Venice man Wednesday for Transmission of Obscene Material.

Detectives investigating Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) determined a particular IP address was used to download multiple files previously identified as containing child pornography. Detectives confirmed the IP address was leased to 101 Veneto Boulevard in Venice and obtained a search warrant for the property. Through investigation, detectives learned Dennis Pomroy, DOB 07/19/85, was employed as a security guard at the location. During a search of the property and forensic scan of his computer, detectives located files indicating his personal computer was used to transmit child pornography.

Pomroy was taken to the Sarasota County Jail and charged with one felony count of Transmission of Obscene Material. He is being held on $25,000 bond while the investigation continues and additional charges are pending.
