The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Wednesday afternoon in connection with the burglary of a local restaurant.

Deputies responded to Siesta Key Oyster Bar located in the 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard just after 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, for reports of a burglary that occurred overnight. The manager arrived and discovered damage to the door and frame, along with several missing dollar bills that were stapled to the walls of the restaurant. Deputies obtained surveillance video and quickly identified the suspect as Danny Limongelli, DOB 05/08/66, from previous encounters. Known to frequent the Gulf Gate area, deputies contacted several businesses to advise them to be on the lookout for the signed dollar bills. Just before 4:00 p.m., thanks to the vigilance of a Publix employee, deputies were notified that Limongelli was inside the store and attempting to pass the described bills. Deputies responded and arrested Limongelli without incident.

He is charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Structure and being held at the Sarasota County Jail on $1,500 bond.
