Hernandez-Licea, Licet

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently attempting to locate Licet Hernandez-Licea, DOB 04/14/93, who is competing in the 2017 World Rowing Championships at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.

The 24-year-old athlete from the Cuban rowing team was officially reported missing just after 1:00 p.m., on Thursday after she did not show up for her morning competition. Hernandez-Licea was last seen Wednesday evening around 9:00 p.m. Based on preliminary investigation to include email correspondence from early Thursday morning indicating her withdrawal from the event, detectives do not suspect foul play. In an abundance of caution, detectives are working with state and federal authorities and have entered Hernandez-Licea as a missing person.
