Detectives Seek Information Related to Fire Station Vandalism

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information in connection with two acts of vandalism that occurred at a Sarasota County Fire Department station in Sarasota.

Deputies were first called to Station 14 located at 8821 S. Tamiami Trail, on August 3, for reports of a shattered window on the south side of the building. A similar incident occurred on August 31, resulting in a shattered window above the main entry door. On both occasions, deputies located small marbles and stones that may have been thrown using a slingshot. Both windows are hurricane resistant, resulting in damage estimated at more than $4,000.
