Trafficking Arrests

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug trafficking charges after detectives connected them to the delivery of more than 113 grams of methamphetamine to a Sarasota address.

On Thursday, deputies were alerted to a residence where a homeowner received a package containing methamphetamine. Mailed from Austin, Texas, when detectives weighed the package contents, they recovered more than 113 grams of the drug. Through investigation, detectives identified Joshua Dekoyer, DOB 06/04/87, as the man responsible for having the package delivered. Dekoyer and wife Tasha Gruerio, DOB 10/07/86, were both arrested and taken to the Sarasota County Jail. During a search, detectives found heroin, additional methamphetamine, pills, and drug paraphernalia in their possession.  

Dekoyer is charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia. He remains in custody today without bond. Dekoyer has more than a dozen prior arrests for drug offenses including Possession of Fentanyl, Heroin, Cocaine, and Marijuana with Intent to Sell.

Gruerio is charged with Principle to Trafficking in Methamphetamine, Possession of Amphetamine, Possession of Heroin and Possession of Hydromorphone. She also remains in custody without bond and has prior arrests for crimes including Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Possession of Alprazolam and various other drug charges. The investigation continues.
