Trio Arrested in Connection with Nokomis Burglaries

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man and two teens in connection with two residential burglaries in Nokomis Thursday morning.

Deputies first responded to the 700 block of Florence Street in Nokomis just before noon, when a resident came home to find three suspects fleeing from his back yard. Upon search of his property, the victim found his rear patio door broken as well as jewelry and sunglasses missing from inside his home. Responding deputies, with the assistance of watchful neighbors, quickly located the suspects in a vehicle on nearby Matland Street. Through investigation, deputies learned that another home was also burglarized. Upon contact with the suspects, deputies recovered the stolen jewelry and sunglasses. All three suspects admitted to the burglaries and were taken into custody.

Quavion Cromer, DOB 03/17/98, of 2807 Gillespie Avenue, Sarasota; Karriem McDowell, DOB 07/25/01, of Gainesville; and Tre-Quan Outing, DOB 12/16/00, of 647 Church Street, Nokomis;  face two counts each of Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling. Cromer remains in custody on $15,000 bond. McDowell and Outing were released to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
