Child Pornography Arrest

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office today arrested a 34-year-old man for possession of child pornography after executing a search warrant at his home.

Detectives investigating Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) determined a particular Internet protocol (IP) address was used to download 15 files previously identified as containing child pornography. Detectives confirmed the IP address was leased to a resident living at 3101 Bee Ridge Road, Apt 221, Sarasota, and obtained a search warrant for the home. Surveillance determined that Igor Soshnik, DOB 06/30/82, lived there.

Detectives executed a search warrant at his residence today and during a forensic scan of Soshnik's electronics, discovered 40 images/videos all determined to be child pornography. They also seized two laptops, two cell phones, DVDs and CDs.

Soshnik is charged with 40 felony counts of Possession: Sexual Performance by a Child. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
