Assistance Identifying Burglary Suspects

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance identifying four men who burglarized a business in the city of Sarasota and attempted to burglarize two businesses in Venice, early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 3:00 a.m., four suspects were captured on surveillance video attempting to break into the Verizon Wireless store in the 4200 block of S. Tamiami Trail in Venice. Video shows one of the suspects throwing a landscaping brick at the glass door and windows, without success. Less than half an hour later, the same four suspects were captured on video attempting to gain access to the Verizon Wireless store in the 300 block of Jacaranda Blvd., Venice. They were again unsuccessful.

Close to 4:00 a.m., the same suspects broke into the Sprint store in the 4100 block of S. Tamiami Trail in the city of Sarasota. Surveillance video shows one of the men using a sledgehammer to break the glass door and access the business where an unknown amount of merchandise was stolen. Officers with the Sarasota Police Department are investigating the incident and also asking for the public's help to identify these suspects.
