Nokomis Man Faces Felony Drug Charges

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a Nokomis man on felony drug and weapons charges after detectives executed a search warrant on his home.

On Monday morning, deputies performed a traffic stop on Troy Ulrich, DOB 05/05/68, at the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Palm Avenue in Nokomis. When Ulrich, who had two outstanding warrants, attempted to flee on foot, deputies deployed a K-9 Unit and took him into custody. During his arrest, detectives recovered a bag containing more than four grams of cocaine, a digital scale and cash in Ulrich's pocket. After executing a search warrant on his home, they seized an additional 95 grams of cannabis, several .22 caliber bullets, drug paraphernalia and more than $4,000 in cash.

Ulrich, of 488 Ceil Drive, is charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon and Resisting without Violence. Ulrich's history includes 26 prior arrests in Sarasota County and 17 felony convictions.
