Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight today promoted eight employees to new ranks to fill vacancies created by retirements and organizational changes.

Promoted to the rank of Captain was Lieutenant Tim Enos, who joined the agency in 1993. Enos will serve as the Emergency Operations Bureau Commander. He holds his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Florida State University and is a graduate of the Command Officer Development Course through the Southern Police Institute.

Media Relations Specialist Kaitlyn Johnston was promoted to Community Affairs Director. Johnston joined the agency in 2014 and will serve as the agency's Public Information Officer. Johnston holds her bachelor's degree in Communications with a minor in Criminology from the University of South Florida.

In the Law Enforcement Division, Sergeants Bryan Ivings, Donny Kennard and Brian Gregory were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, assigned to the Patrol Bureau. Promoted to the rank of Sergeant were Detective Matt Tuggle, Deputies Gregory Cramer and James Darby, also assigned to the Patrol Bureau.

"This is an exciting day for the sheriff's office," said Sheriff Tom Knight. "The men and women promoted today are an outstanding representation of this agency. I have no doubt that in these leadership roles, they will continue to make their community very proud."
