Sexual Predator Registration

NEWS RELEASE #: 16-106

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is advising the public that Steven Edward Golibersuch, DOB 05/29/55, has registered as a Sexual Predator living in Sarasota County.

Golibersuch was convicted on three counts of Sexual Battery Coercion of a Child by an Adult in Sarasota County in 1999 and sentenced to 20 years in prison. He was just released and has registered as a transient living in the area of University Parkway and Desoto Road in Sarasota. The registration of a "location" and not a physical address is allowable by Florida law for homeless or transient persons, but a transient offender or predator must register their address with the sheriff's office every 30 days. Golibersuch is currently under the supervision of the Florida Department of Corrections, however because he was convicted prior to 2004, residency restrictions do not apply. Mandatory neighborhood notifications are being made.

This information is posted on the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office web site, agency Facebook page and Twitter account to publicly notify citizens of sex offenders and predators who register a Sarasota County address for the first time, when moving into the county or following release from prison. Citizens should still sign up to receive notifications from FDLE of sex offender and predator registrations.
