Sarasota County Sheriff Tom Knight is pleased to announce that Sarah Kenniff was named 2015 Corrections Accreditation Manager of the Year by the Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission (FCAC).

Kenniff received the award Tuesday at the Florida Police Accreditation Coalition (FLA-PAC) conference in Orlando. She joined the sheriff's office in 2006 as the Media Relations Specialist assigned to the Community Affairs Office and later transferred to the Accreditation Unit in January 2012, as the Corrections Accreditation Manager. Kenniff is credited with helping the sheriff's office earn 100% compliance and re-accreditation in 2012 and again in 2015. She is also recognized for being instrumental in not only the review, revision and electronic filing of 2500+ pages of general orders, but also all 12 sheriff's office bureau manuals.

"This prestigious recognition puts Mrs. Kenniff in an elite class of her own," said Sheriff Knight. "Her knowledge of the accreditation and compliance process is invaluable towards the continued success of our agency."

Kenniff currently serves as an assessor for both the FCAC and Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA). She holds her bachelor's degree from American Public University and is currently working toward her Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation.
