National Day of Remembrance Planned

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Sarasota Police Department and local representatives from Parents of Murdered Children, Inc. (POMC), will host the National Day of Remembrance on Thursday, September 22, 2016, at 6:30 p.m.

On that day, the national organization for POMC and countless other crime victims and survivors will gather in cities and towns across America to pay tribute to the nation's murder victims and honor their surviving family members. The National Day of Remembrance also recognizes organizations throughout America that provide services such as support, advocacy and counseling to loved ones of murder victims.

The local Day of Remembrance ceremony will be held at the Sarasota Police Department Community Room, 2099 Adams Lane, Sarasota, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
