Heroin Arrests

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested two men and a teen on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday in Venice.

The investigation began in early November when Shyheim Brown, DOB 09/30/94, of Sarasota, sold undercover detectives heroin on two separate occasions. On Wednesday when Tactical Unit deputies performed a felony traffic stop on his rental vehicle in the parking lot of 325 Commercial Court, Brown and two passengers were arrested. A search of the car revealed 2 grams of heroin and fentanyl, .2 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and more than $1800 in cash.

Brown is charged with two counts of Sale of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with Intent to Sell and Possession of Marijuana. He was released Thursday on $38,000 bond. Passengers Chadwick Stephens, DOB 09/04/86, of Bradenton, and Trayshawn Ramos, DOB 03/03/99, of Sarasota, were also arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin with Intent to Sell and Possession of Marijuana. Stephens was released Thursday on $8,000 bond and Ramos was released Wednesday to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
