Arrests Made at Nuisance House in Venice

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested two men living in a nuisance house in Venice, after the duo sold undercover detectives cocaine and prescription pills.

The investigation began on October 6, when Richard Rivers, DOB 06/11/76, drove his roommate Tyrell Odoms, DOB 04/30/88, to sell cocaine to undercover detectives. Odoms again met with detectives on two more occasions in October and sold them cocaine and Hydromorphone. Over the past year, detectives purchased narcotics on several occasions from different people at Rivers' home, located at 549 La Gorce Drive.

On Tuesday, detectives arrested Rivers for Maintaining a Nuisance Dwelling and Principle to Sale of Rock Cocaine. He has since been released on $9,000 bond. Odoms was also taken into custody and charged with Sale of Hydromorphone and three counts of Sale of Rock Cocaine. Odoms bond is set at $100,000.
