The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested an Englewood woman Thursday night for DUI after she crashed into the back of a deputy's car stopped at a red light.
The incident took place in the intersection of Englewood Road and Englewood Isles Parkway just before 9:00 p.m. The driver, 61-year-old Barbara Boyle, was still behind the wheel of her running car when DUI Unit deputies arrived. A breath test revealed Boyle's blood alcohol content was .191, more than twice the legal limit. The deputy involved in the crash was transported to the hospital for examination but sustained no major injuries.
Boyle, of 1918 Neptune Drive, was released Friday morning on $500 bond.
