Deputies Arrest Man Passed Out with Drugs in Hand

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a Sarasota man after first responders found him passed out in a convenience store bathroom with drugs in his hand.

Deputies responded to 6212 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota just before 5:30 a.m., Friday morning, for reports of a man passed out in a locked stall. Medical personnel also responded and were able to quickly wake the man up, who had a needle in his hand and bag of drugs nearby. David Lee, DOB 07/04/87, of 2080 Rose Street, disclosed to deputies that he used cocaine before falling asleep inside the bathroom. Upon search of the bag and Lee's backpack, deputies recovered heroin, cocaine, prescription pills, and various drug paraphernalia including 6 needles, 4 crack pipes, a scale and baggies.

Lee was medically cleared and taken to the Sarasota County Jail where deputies charged him with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Narcotic Equipment. He remains in custody today on $5,000 bond.
