Public
Safety Communications Center
The Public Safety
Communications (PSC) Center is a multi-agency communication center that
provides full communication services for the Sarasota County Fire Department,
Nokomis Fire Department, Venice Fire Department, North Port Fire Department,
Englewood Fire Department, Sarasota Police Department (SPD), and the
Sarasota County Sheriff's Office (SSO). Annually we process over
467,000
9-1-1 and non-emergency calls.
The PSC is an
intergovernmental partnership among Sarasota County Government, the SSO and
the law/fire/rescue agencies that we serve. The Center is governed by
a Policy Board consisting of senior representatives from each agency served.
There are 110 full time and 8
part time SSO personnel assigned to the PSC. One thing that makes the
PSC unique is that there are three non Sheriff's Office positions also
assigned to the Center. Sarasota County Emergency Services supplies
our Support Manager/Fire Liaison and our Administrative Assistant. The
SPD supplies our City of Sarasota Liaison. The different uniforms worn
by those assigned with the Center depicts what our consolidation is all
about.
