Job Description
Sarasota County Corrections Deputies are
Florida state certified. They perform several duties such as: Feeding,
headcount, supervision of trustees, road gang, transporting inmates to and from
first appearance, medical facility, visitation, educational programs, and
religious services, report writing, radio usage, cell searches, and intake
procedures.

Corrections
Deputies transport inmates to
and from court, to other correctional facilities,
and for medical treatment, if needed.
Iris Scan
The Iris Scan is a recognition tool used to
properly identify inmates as they enter the facility and depart. Iris scanning
takes advantage of random variations in the visible features of the Iris. The
details of each Iris are phenotypically unique, that is, no two are exactly
alike, not even among twins, not even in your own two eyes.

Corrections Deputies perform a number
of
duties including fingerprinting
(live scan) and photos of inmates.
