Chaplain Services


Below is a list of Chaplain programs offered to inmates:

  • Praise and Worship Service: Weekly church services for the Protestant Christians of all denominations lead by the Senior Chaplain of the jail and volunteers clergy from community churches, for men and women.

  • Catholic Church Service: Catholic Mass is held for the men and women in the chapel weekly also a Spanish service for the Spanish men.

  • Rosary Service: A Rosary service for the women is held weekly following the mass.

  • Spanish Church Service: A Spanish-speaking pastor leads a weekly Church service for our Spanish-speaking Christian inmates.

  • Muslim/Juma Service: Juma is the Muslim weekly service that is held according to the Muslim faith. A Koran is furnished and each religious holiday is observed.

  • Men's Bible Study: A weekly bible study for those who want more than just Church services. This program offers inmates the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the bible.

  • Women's Bible Study: A weekly bible study just for women who want to grow in their faith and learn how to apply biblical principles.

  • Men's Protestant Lay Visitation: Sometimes known as "Night Ministry" is lead by men who are lay ministers from local churches. They visit inmates at night to talk to them and pray with them.

  • Women's Protestant Lay Visitation: Is lead by women lay ministers from local churches.

  • Catholic Lay Visitation: Sometimes known as "Catholic Night Ministry" is lead by men who are lay ministers from Catholic Churches. They visit inmates at night to talk to them and pray with them.

  • Addicted to Christ: AC is a 12 step addiction recovery program similar to AA and NA programs.

  • Faith Dorm: (Men Only) Christian based programs, provided by volunteers from community churches are held on the dorm Monday through Friday

 

  • 100 Hour Curriculum: this a non denominational faith based program to reduce recidivism and make fulfilled and productive citizens. Lead by Volunteers from all faiths in the area:

  1. Parenting (4 weeks) – Dad’s Coaching Clinic or Parenting from the Heart for women

  2. Personal Insight  ( 9weeks)– Dealing with addictions, finding the answers lies in turning to God

  3. Free to Grow (12 weeks) – Overcoming disappointments and setbacks

  4. Anger Management  (9 weeks)

  5. Handling Loss and Grief (9 weeks)

  6. Financial Recovery (7 weeks) - Financial Success from Scratch.

  • Alcohol Anonymous: AA is 12-step program for recovering alcoholics. AA leaders come into the jail from the community to help lead these meetings.

  • Narcotic Anonymous: NA is a 12-step program for recovering drug addicts. NA leaders come into the jail from the community to help lead these meetings.

  • Cocaine Anonymous: CA is a 12 step program for recovering addicts. CA members from the community volunteer and lead the programs.

Pastoral/Clergy Visitation


Ordained Pastors, Ministers, Priests, Rabbis, Bishops are free to visit members of their congregations, who become inmate residents of the county jail, by simply making appointments through the Chaplains Office.

  • Please make appointments 24 hours in advance.

  • Preferred times of visits:

  • 9 am - 10:30 am or after 8:30 pm. (941) 861-4670
