The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office wants to put the news media in our shoes!  Each year the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office hosts an Academy in the Spring.

Hands-on Activities, Lectures, & Demonstrations

This two day academy is an opportunity for you to participate in hands-on activities such as
(but not limited to):

Aviation Demonstrations
Bomb Squad Demonstrations
Crime Scene Techniques/Fingerprinting
Defensive Tactics
Driving Scenarios
Felony Traffic Stops
Forensics
Guest Speakers
Jail Security
K-9 Demonstrations
Mock Crime Scenes
Rappelling
Role Reversals
Shoot/Don't Shoot Scenarios
Target Practice

Media Academy Application
This form needs to be completed in order to register you for the Media Law Enforcement Academy.

Media Academy Liability Form
This form needs to be completed and returned to the Media Liaison Office prior to your attending the Media Law Enforcement Academy.

Ride-Along Form
This form needs to be completed and returned prior to participating in a ride-along in any Sheriff's Office apparatus.
